Especially now that we're in a pandemic and everyone needs to keep washing their hands, hand creams, because of their scent and hydrating ability, have become common office gifts during Christmas. Along with hand sanitizers. Although really, if it's just moisturization/hydration we want to impart, then we'd do away with the fancy and just gift Nivea blue tins. But we like the fancy right? Packaging, scent, consistency and all that.
Marks and Spencer often puts up gift shops in high traffic areas in malls during the Christmas season. It makes buying gifts easy as you can just pop in during lunch break and carry your gift back to your workplace.
They have various hand lotions but I'm just gonna write about Marks and Spencer Peach and Almond Hand Cream. The peach and almond are not just fragrances but extracts incorporated into the lotion for moisturization. It is thick but non-sticky, non-greasy and easily absorbed by skin. My hands immediately feel smoother upon application. The light smell is a very sour (which I don't like) peach on me with just a bit of sweet almond note similar to that of The Body Shop's capping it off. Thankfully, the fragrance is gone in two hours.
Korean skincare brands have become popular the past decade. I've never seen The Face Shop put up Christmas kiosks since.
The Face Shop Olive Moisture Shine Hand Butter is not as thick as Marks and Spencer. Olive and shea butter are the key ingredients. It does not get absorbed easily hence sticky feels. Imagine sticky hands, however fleeting, touching gadgets. Ugh. Also has a two-hours-then-gone nutty almond scent, thus the comparison.
Between the two, Marks and Spencer gets my vote only because I don't like sticky feels. Again, these wouldn't do for super dry skin.
Sorry, no photos. The tubes got cut up so I could use both to the last drop.
Prices are around P200+, mine were gifts.
