More Great Smelling Hand Disinfectants: Pure Protect, Green Cross, Hygienix Alcohol and Hand Sanitizer Review

And because it's campaign season (in a pandemic), here are more fragrant rubbing alcohols and hand sanitizers you can get your hands on. More, as I posted about three rubbing alcohols that smell like colognes and a body mist last year.

Pure Protect Hand Sanitizer

Pure Protect Natural Hand Sanitizer in Berries 70% (Ethyl) Solution

Local hand sanitizers are often fragrant thanks to the popularity of Bath and Body Works Pocketbacs which manufacturers have been emulating. Supermarket don't carry them as much as rubbing alcohol though. In the early months of the pandemic, all hand disinfectants and just about anything else got obliterated from the store shelves. Pure Protect was one of the first hand disinfectants that appeared in the stores near our place. It is just a little over the price of rubbing alcohol too.

Pure Protect Natural Hand Sanitizer has several variants but I was only able to get Berries then and stuck to it because it smells great. Strawberry is the dominant berry note and it reminds me of Bench Bratsplash Strawberry Shake Cologne. It is non-drying. Really important at a time when we all but take a bath in alcohol and hand sanitizers. (In my experience, three things hasten the ageing of hands: sun, detergent and rubbing alcohol.) There is no sticky feels. Those who are into berry scents and concerned with drying should consider this. It's so good some deem it giftable. I received two pocket-friendly bottles one Christmas.

Green Cross Isopropyl Alcohol

Green Cross Ethyl Alcohol

Green Cross 70% Isopropyl And 70% Ethyl Alcohol

Okay, so since Green Cross is pretty popular, people might still associate its powdery scent with hospitals. Or caring for babies? I remember when alcohol was scarce, some people on socmed were desperate for Green Cross Alcohol. They claim it's the only one whose scent their babies tolerate. Green Cross 70% Ethyl Alcohol is more powdery than Green Cross 70% Isopropyl Alcohol as the alcohol smell in the latter is stronger.

And to think I was hesitant to get the Ethyl version. I didn't like ethyl alcohol before. I thought they all feel and smell like Casino Rubbing Alcohol, the original one in white bottle, which my mom likes. For me it has a kinda slime-y undercurrent.  I hear Casino Femme Ethyl Alcohol is a leap up from it but I have yet to get my hands on a bottle.

Green Cross hand sanitizer

Green Cross Total Defense Antibacterial Sanitizer

This has a refreshing cucumber scent. Unfortunately, the spray bottle I got leaks. More on this hand sanitizer and the Green Cross Sanitizing Gel in a previous post.

Hygienix Alcohol

Hygienix Germ Kill Alcohol

This smells like the bath products aisle of the supermarket. I know there is a Hygienix Bath Soap but I haven't smelled that. This is for when you want to fool people into thinking you've soaped your hands. I'm still trying to place what particular skincare product this smells like.

Hygienix Germ Kill Hand Sanitizer

Perfect for stashing inside a bag because of the gel texture. It only drips out if the bottle is squeezed. The familiar aquatic scent, watermelons and lilies brings to mind Lactacyd Intimate White, The Body Shop's Aqua Lily and Sea Breeze Body Shampoo.

These Hygienix products do not say how much alcohol they have but they are FDA notified / listed.

Which brings us to Bench Bratsplash Hand Sanitizers. Someone reported my review for these to blogger and it got taken down for a day. Of course blogger didn't see anything wrong with it so they put it up again without any action on my end. Kaloka, someone got triggered? Why? Because of the FDA link?

Another old review would be for Watson's Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer.

With how frequent we sanitize nowadays, why settle for hand disinfectants whose smell you don't like or which can dry your hands? Just the same, why settle for candidates na mga hugas kamay at todo sanitize pero madumi naman talaga, magaling lang mangbudol si Cambridge Analytica?
