Pasabuys: Revlon Flex Keratina Shampoo and SYOSS Revive 7 Conditioner Reviews

Pasabuy is a play on the Filipino word "pasabay", which means to come with or to have someone include something for you. The pandemic forced people to stay indoors. When the lockdown / community quarantines started, aside from essential personnel, only one person per household was allowed outside the house and just to buy necessities. Only private and essential vehicles were allowed on the roads. Because of this people would either ask someone they knew who's going to the grocery to also buy for them. Realizing they could earn from this, some people would then either charge a handling fee as they call it or mark up the items they were asked to buy.  Pasabuy was born and coined.

When a co-worker ended up at SnR, she offered to pick up stuff for everyone as a lot of items were on sale. People joked that most of us would end up smelling the same since we got similar shampoos and conditioners. This had happened previously when we purchased the same fabric conditioners from another co-teacher.

Since Revlon is a well-known brand which usually delivers, I said yes to a bottle of Flex Keratina Anticaspa Shampoo. Well two since they were buy one get one. The 650ml bottle which could have used a pump given the size, was P240. That's basically half the price of a commercial shampoo in the Philippines like Dove and Sunsilk.

Revlon Flex Keratina Anticaspa Shampoo has a sweet powdery floral fragrance that lasts for a few hours.  It's the scent that made me think that I have had this years before. A check on the web then seeing previous bottles of this shampoo confirmed that I once bought a bottle from a px goods/dollar store. I remember not being impressed by the product then.

Still not impressed now. It's watery and does not sud as much as commercial shampoos. The need to follow-up with conditioner is pretty evident after I shampoo with this. Even gave me dandruff. Which is really ironic since this is an anti-dandruff shampoo.

Luckily, I also got SYOSS Revive 7 Conditioner, another pasabuy that was BOGO. This conditioner with vanilla notes tamed my shoulder length hair and made it soft. Better combability, it says in the bottle. Such a word exists, as does such a state after using this after shampoo. Syoss is from the same company as Pert

SYOSS conditioner

Now that the restrictions have eased up, if we need/want something, we are able to buy them ourselves, have them delivered or have our brother purchase them for us, essentially also a pasabuy but at no extra cost, heh. We're still trying to limit stuff we bring into the house. Maybe we'll do a pasabuy in the future when something is offered and it's the only means we could get it.
