Reflecting on / Over Angel's Breath Perfumes and How to Spot Fakes in the Update

Here's the scene.

You walk into the classroom. You've done your homework, you're ready for that science quiz later. But now, now you stand in front of the class for oral presentation. Your hands feel clammy, sweat trickles down your nape. You make eye contact with that kid at the back of the classroom, the one who told you you smell totally dope.

You've wondered what he means. A couple of your classmates smell like you. Angel's Breath happens to be the popular scent at the moment. It's why you saved up for the cologne. Also because it smells so good. And it really wakes you up. Must be the fresh, citrus-y notes.

You want to belong, not to be the odd girl in class. You already feel you are. You think too much, read too much, ask too much, stay in your head too much. Later, as your pen glides on the quiz booklet, Yoko Takehashi's Cruel Angel's Thesis plays in your head.

Here's the scene.

You walk into the classroom. You've done your board work, you're ready for that science quiz later. As you stand in front of the class, after all these time, you get that tiny tingling at your little finger. Nerves still. You make eye contact with that kid at the back of the classroom. The one who told you you smell dank.

Something is different.

Yes. Yes, something sure is. More layers. There's an ylang-ylang now trailing after the citrus-y, fruity scent. "There's lemon too," the sales assistant at the beauty section told you that as you held the plastic bottle of Angel's Breath Gold EDT.

You can now afford a fragrance upgrade, EDT over cologne. Lingers longer, smells stronger. A good thing too since you can't exactly spritz fragrance anytime you want or need too because you are busy, with people depending on you.

Later during lunch period, as your fingers glide over your laptop, Utada Hikaru's Beautiful World plays from your bluetooth speakers. You've accepted parts of who you are. You've changed, you didn't. You are relatively okay, maybe even happy.

Other current Angel's Breath products include: Angels Breath EDT, Angel's Breath Eau de Cologne, Angel's Breath Love EDT (has rose notes), Angel's Smile Body Cologne (has lemon notes) Angel's Breath Gold Body Cologne, Angel's Breath Body Powder and Angel's Breath Germ Stopper.

Updated 6/22/21:
Found an old, empty, dirty bottle of Angel's Breath Eau Parfum in the house. Sister's.  A discontinued product. It smells different than Angel's Breath Body Cologne. It's a bit more powdery floral. It's not as citrusy. The citrus note is more similar to that of Avon Heaven Scent Cologne in Fresh Squeeze's. Of course, I'm getting these off the bottle, not on my skin.

For more on Angel's Breath, here's an informative interview with the company's spokesperson on Shoptalk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajCmgimK9y4. Also, https://m.facebook.com/Angels-Breath-65914593310/ is their facebook page. Angel's Breath products are available at the beauty section of Landmark Department stores.

Updated: 3/5/22:

From the interview in the YouTube vid linked above, the formulation came from Spain but the final products are manufactured here in the Philippines.

Also, they contain alcohol as stated in the interview but not so much the alcohol overwhelms the scents. I have not encountered a watered-down legit product. They are not water-based or oil-based. Alcohol is their carrier.

Beware of fakes. Anyone can just copy a label. And there are Angel's Breath scented alcohol being sold in the market. I have a gallon of this and the opening may be similar but then it becomes too powdery. The citrus opening of this alcohol is very brief. I have a post about manufacturers adding fragrances like Victoria's Secret Endless Love and Bath and Body Works Cucumber Melon to rubbing alcohols. This confirms that there are fragrance oils out there which are based on the smell of Angel's Breath and anybody can just get their hands on these oils, add ethanol, place it in a bottle, add a fake label and sell them off as original Angels Breath perfumes.

I don't know about the new fragrance bottles (check their official instagram account for pics.) but the ones above and other earlier bottles have the words "Angelitos Espana" embossed at the bottom. Order from their official instagram account

Updated 9/16/2023:
Angels Breath inspired perfumes are in the market as well as fragrance oils that can be used in making perfumes. In my opinion, inspired by perfume brands are better than fakes as they are not duping customers into believing that what they are getting is exactly the original. There are even inspired by perfumes that outperforms originals. But then they may smell pretty far off from the originals.
