Lewis and Pearl Scentshop Colognes and Ice Water Review

Lewis and Pearl has changed its name and bottle and label design over the years. First going by Green Cross Cologne then just Lewis and Pearl, before adding Scentshop to its name. Several variants have been discontinued (Summer, Twist, Happy, Chill, Dew Drops - D&G Light Blue dupe, Angel, Rock N Rio) while new ones have been added. My first Lewis and Pearl cologne was in a translucent almost oval bottle. Right now the plastic bottles resemble lapad which are bottles usually used for local honey or a local liquor brand's rhum. In fairness, Lewis and Pearl scents can be sweet and/or intoxicating.

Scentshop by Lewis and Pearl colognes has several variants in blue and pink liquid color. This may be a problem when you're having someone buy one for you and you don't remember the variant name, just the color. Especially now when outside movement is limited.  Happened to my mom. She wanted powdery Rain (the baby cologne of the lot), brother got her Rush. (Would have bought online, except someone's already at the grocery so might as well.) Otherwise, this allows one to identify which variants are for boys and for girls, although there are variants in blue liquid that some girls prefer like Ice Water (and Rain).

Also imagine recommending these to friends or on the internet and you're just gonna go by color. "The pink one smells like a fruity candy."

What I do find helpful is each Lewis and Pearl Scentshop cologne has its fragrance notes listed on its label. (Not all the notes though. Some of the notes listed here, I managed to find in different parts of the net.)
  • Rush - lemon, magnolia, amber
  • Blue Navy - mandarin, amber
  • Rain - orange flower, violet, muskThe powdery nuance comes upon application, not from sniffing the bottle.
  • Ice Water - minty citrus, jasmine, musk
  • New York Beats - citrus, musk
  • Candy Kiss - vanilla, musk, sandalwood. If vanilla is your thing, this is your cologne.
  • Pink Passion - lychee, jasminevanilla
  • Cool Fantasy -  grapefruit, peach, vanilla
  • Sweet Paris - tangerine, raspberry, vanilla
  • Dream - pear, lavender, muguet
Speaking of, I currently have Ice Water because citrus. The shift from the refreshing top notes of mint and citrus to lingering floral and musk is quite noticeable, though. The scent lasts well after lunch time, of course not as strong as the first few hours. Interestingly, when you check Scentshop by Lewis and Pearl's Shopee site, it states that the colognes' formulation is oil. I've noticed that the consistency is different than other colognes, it almost glides on my palm. It's surprising that it does not reek of alcohol considering it's parent company is Green Cross. It's not always like this though. I've come across a draft on my PC (Yes, I still prefer personal computers though we have a couple of laptops and other much handier devices around. Storage lasts longer. Easier for us to fix too.) wherein I've noted that the previous Dream smells strongly of alcohol.

Ingredients: specially denatured alcohol, purified water, fragrance, benzophenone-3

The last freebie I got with my Lewis and Pearl Scentshop Cologne (Sweet Paris with its fruity/berry notes) purchase was a pocket spray. These babies occasionally come with freebies which are no slouch considering the colognes are very affordably priced. There were pin freebies when those were the rage. It's not often for colognes to have freebies. Discounts yes. And that's been quite abundant with non-essential products this pandemic. It's tempting to hoard. Given the competitive price point of Lewis and Pearl (and occasional freebie) getting a bottle is okay without having to wait for when it goes on sale.

    1. According to the Lewis and Pearl FB Page, notes are mango, grapefruit and hibiscus.

I haven't smelled Summer but Escada Island Kiss is a perfume which comes to mind when mango is mentioned.

  2. no freaking wonder why I'm inlove with D&G light blue. Nung highschool days ko adik na adik ako sa dew drops. like grabe. ubos yon sakin lage. and I always got compliments for it. nung nag college nako. dami kong prof na lalake nag sasabi na amoy dalagang fresh ako. kahit dalagang fresh naman talaga ako nung time na yon, i just dont look like it MWAHAHAHAHA. now that im adult and may money na for work, na adik ako sa d&g LIGHT BLUE, pero now that i read your blog, OO nga!!! kaamoy nga, pero mas sharp lang yung light blue intense, may softness kasi yung dew drops na amoy bata ka talaga. although you need to reapply. pero hindi issue sakin yon. i like to reapply always lol. im still heart broken discontinued yung dew drops for years. i've used summer as my 2nd option pag sold out dew drops.

    1. I'm guessing Lewis & Pearl Dew Drops got discontinued because there are a couple of local drugstore colognes with similarities to D&G Light Blue as well: Juicy Cologne Icylicious (I think this was Kathryn Bernardo's pick when she was brand endorser and for good reason.), Eliana Summer Crush, Aficionado Bath and Body Spray in Icy Dive, Penshoppe Blue Cologne (girl with umbrella on the label) and Babyflo Purple Rain.

Thank you for sharing your kwento, naaliw ako. "Dalagang fresh naman talaga ako nung time na yon, i just dont look like it" is me too.
